My first time on Lighting Writing Animation!

I'm always a fan of light writing, I used to post a lot of Lichtfaktor and Pika Pikas' work on my blog. Last night, I tried lighting writing ANIMATION, gosh, it takes tremendous effort for a 6 seconds footage. I did 'FAKE' lighting writing before using After effects which takes a lot of time as well, but the difference is you seating on your comfortable chair while the "photography stop motion light writing animation (which I call the real light writing)" I have to move the equipments, spending time in the cold, animate everything frame by frame. Anyway, I'm not complaining and the outcome is really satisfying!

Actually I did this for my Uni elective units project called "Text".I wanted to use AE and make a similar one to what I did before, but think of it, this is a good chance to get my lazy arse outside the comfort zone and try something new. Not sure how the whole video would look like but I'm sure it's gonna be great!(at least for me).I would update more on how and what did it used for this project soon.

Also, Thanks Myoung for helping me out or else I would have to spend 6 hours for a 6 seconds footage :)

Currently was really busy in Japan, going for trips, filming and photography stuff. Finally got some little time to stay at house watching videos, photos and hopefully get inspired from those available video on internet. As you its really difficult to get a chance to travel because you gotta work your ass off to save money and stuff.

Well, came through this video on Vimeo's staff pick, actually I didnt want to post another video so that if anyone of you who read this blog wont think that im a lazy blogger(in fact i am), but this video is the most massive light writing I ever seen so far, and.. its a proposal video, how sweet was that. Must have put a lot of effort on it, but once in a life time definitely worth it I guess. I assume they already got married so wish them happy (lame, because i dont know what wishing stuff I should say to a married couple in English)

About My Light Graffiti, theres a faster way of doing it

theres a few people had asked me about how i did the light graffiti i did for birthday wish to my friends. my reply was

"the light graffiti i did was using abode after effects, which u have to animate the light by yourself actually. theres one tutorial on youtube on how to light writing in motion, its much easier method. check this out.

yes, theres a easier method, the one i did took me 3 days straight just to animate the light. I havent try this method myself yet but, this is really much simpler method and looks real because is real light from source instead using animated light.

PikaPika in Indonesia

Tochka held a workshop at Indonesia for 5 days around Bandung,Indonesia from 9th to 14th April 2008. The participants were students, children, angkot (mini bus) drivers, musicians and various people. They must had a lots of fun when 'PikaPika'.

PikaPika x So-net Project - Light Writing Behind the Scene

PikaPika, they influenced a lot of people in light writing like the Lichtfaktor crew and they actually made me start to light writng.

Compare between Lichtfaktor and PikaPika, you could see that Lichtfaktor's every single pictures are more clean and beautiful, but complexity wise, PikaPika is really much complicated, very high framerate (more pictures) of the stop motions, a lot of light figures. They had 77 participants altogether while Lichfaktor is only 2.

I didnt wanna compare them like they are competitors or something but I wanna tell that both had very different styles I you watch carefully, don't just think that 'Oh, they are just doing light writing', you gotta love both.

Lichtfaktor crew - light writing

Lichtfaktor, found this crew some times ago after i started light writing which influenced by pika-pika. With using an exposure of about ten-to-thirty seconds, tripod, glowsticks, flashlights, reflectors, and even torches use to create the light writings. What Lichtfaktor did is the cleanest light writing for what i have seen so far, amazing work.

This is my recent work that dedicated to my friends and all the birthday boygirls. I took 3 days straight to do it, could be my hardest video i did so far. Well, i think its very worth it for all the hardworks.
