My first short film, "Karma - This is a Loop"

This is my first short film ever. I want to create a story that able to loop endlessly and my personal life experience which gave me the inspiration of this storyline.

What goes around comes back around, no matter what you did is good or bad, everything will come back after a cycle. In this video, the loop can be endless but I cut it to be repeated only half of the loop which I think is sufficient enough for viewers to understand whats going on and what I'm trying to show.

Also, for this project I wanted to try 3d software and also use after effects on real life footages because I'm really crap on this 2 softwares :)

As for karma, this is just my own personal believe and do not meant start any religious views clash thingy.

Another sad morning which eventually ruined my whole day. Was talking with my mates about music and I told them how dope Nujabes is. Later Jonny told me that "I thought he just passed away? I saw that on facebook." Looking through the internet and yes, he just passed away. Another great loss for Hip Hop, his music had inspired me so much in the past years. If ya ever watch my videos before, I used lots of Nujabes track for video, his stuff is just too dope. Another greatest regret of my trip in Japan is that I don't get a chance to meet him even though I went to record store in Shibuya. Fated I guess.

Nujabes's music will stay forever,R.I.P

Also, condolence to my crew mate's family members, a brother of different blood, DK. Felt sorry for your loss.

What kind of sound can shoes make? Nike + Hifana

Hifana!! They used to be my most frequently searched musicians on youtube. They got me to buy drumpads but I didnt use the drumpad much except for sound effects during DJing, just too busy and too much stuff I wanna learn.

Anyway, back to this video. Just saw this on my facebook and I was like "aren't them Hifana?".They collaborated with Nike and make music from the shoes. Engineers (I dont think they from Nike) developed some kind of thing that make sounds when the shoes are bent, connect it to Abelton Live (look at the making), pass it to Hifana and wait for miracles to happen!
Hmm.. I just love fresh creative stuff, just watch both videos below :)

If I have $5000 now, what can I do with it? Travel, new camera lenses, new dj sets and.. all gone. So actually $5000, isn't that much actually. What you about to watch below is going to blow your mind and I'm very sure about it.

This short film, Raven directed by Ricardo de Montreuil is truly amazing. Hollywood style sci fi, Supernatural abilities & Robots with a budget for just $5000?! This is the best short I've seen for a while!

Summary > Chris Black possesses a power that could lead to the destruction of the current regime, and they will stop at nothing to destroy him.
The chase is on as Chris runs for his life in this sci-fi thriller set in an alternate and futuristic Los Angeles.

I would love to see this short becoming a featured film in cinemas like District 9!

My first time on Lighting Writing Animation!

I'm always a fan of light writing, I used to post a lot of Lichtfaktor and Pika Pikas' work on my blog. Last night, I tried lighting writing ANIMATION, gosh, it takes tremendous effort for a 6 seconds footage. I did 'FAKE' lighting writing before using After effects which takes a lot of time as well, but the difference is you seating on your comfortable chair while the "photography stop motion light writing animation (which I call the real light writing)" I have to move the equipments, spending time in the cold, animate everything frame by frame. Anyway, I'm not complaining and the outcome is really satisfying!

Actually I did this for my Uni elective units project called "Text".I wanted to use AE and make a similar one to what I did before, but think of it, this is a good chance to get my lazy arse outside the comfort zone and try something new. Not sure how the whole video would look like but I'm sure it's gonna be great!(at least for me).I would update more on how and what did it used for this project soon.

Also, Thanks Myoung for helping me out or else I would have to spend 6 hours for a 6 seconds footage :)

BBoys in Fukuoka, Japan

One month in Fukuoka I've been training with these guys almost everyday. I reached Fukuoka with a really really bad Japanese, but.. we speak bboying. The bboys there were just so friendly compare to other bboys in most Asian countries and they tried to talk to me and all that. Patrick, a German trickster that I met at the language school was amazed how friendly Bboys culture is. BBoying is the best icebreaker is pretty much true, we do get aggressive on the floor but most of us are cool other time.

I filmed this video on the last day before I left Fukuoka, well, not all of them let me film, Japanese people are just shy. Anyhow I was still able to capture some pretty good shots of the bboys. Big respect to Hakata Bboys, and Taichan Roc (Japan old school, 36 still rockin fresh)

and oh, i learnt this japanese greetings "O Tsu Ka Re Sa Ma De su", have to say this everytime I leave. Hard to translate this to English lol

Snowboarding, new passion?!

Been living in a country that having a temperature around 32 degree for the whole year, what can be happier for me to enjoy the snow and freezing my ass off? My Japanese bother Masa is a really dope snowboarder, but I haven't seen him showing much skills because he have to wait for me because I'm slow and that was my very first time to do snowboarding. Guess what, after one hour lesson from Masa, I were able to reach the bottom of the hill without landing on my ass which made me really proud and I was like "Im hell talented!".

Anyway, before we went for snowboarding, I was thinking what sort of video I can get from snowboarding? So, I came thru a video by Provo brothers video on Vimeo, got inspired and copy that idea and flip it.. a bit. You can call me a biter(bboy term) if you want, well, just having fun, dont have to be so serious! :)

I've been wanting to try this in Japan but I failed few times because the owner of Japanese sushi bars just wont allow me to do so. I was inspired by Dennis Wheatley's video in vimeo, which he basicly did the same thing. I found the exact same Sushi bar in Tokyo, but I was rejected by the staff... probably I shouldn't have ask them. Well, I actually gave up to make this video but I passed by a sushi bar in Malaysia and I was thinking why don't I just give it a try?

The result.. lack of some feeling, the Japanese feeling, but I'm still happy with it because I still able make a video on sushi train. :)

Finding my purpose

Flying, flying and flying.. Well, some people get sick of it but i started to enjoy it, a lot. I Have been flying for the past few months and now, finally, settle down again, well, not completely, because still got lots of stuff to unpack, Thats the part I don't enjoy the most for travelling, pack and unpack.

Well, now I have some time to Blog, I don't really enjoy blogging you see, I got too many stuff I want to learn, to practise, to see, to experience, whatever it is. I'm just lazy to post something, but why am I still blogging, I dont know lol. To show or market my work? I'm neither professional photographer, videographer, dancer or dj.. still a student, and yep..

I'm final year student, thats why I'm lost, don't know what path I'm going to choose for my future. Just like this blog, this blog don't have much direction as you can see, I like to put lots of crap into this blog (as long as I found interesting). Recall back to two years ago, I dont really know why I started this blog. I think I just think it was 'cool' to have a blog, just like my other hobbies, I did it because I think its cool, and after I get more into them, it's more than just being 'cool'.

So.. I dont know, I still dont know why I blog, I'll keep blogging if possible, show off some work and posting up some craps lol.

Currently was really busy in Japan, going for trips, filming and photography stuff. Well, came through this video on Vimeo's staff pick, actually I didnt want to post another video so that if anyone of you who read this blog wont think that im a lazy blogger(in fact i am), but this video is the most massive light writing I ever seen so far, and.. its a proposal video, how sweet was that. Must have put a lot of effort on it, but once in a life time definitely worth it I guess. I assume they already got married so wish them happy (lame, because i dont know what wishing stuff I should say to a married couple in English)

Hm, my video cant be viewed in certain country.. music copyright again. I got like 10 videos in my channel that having the same issue, can't believe they can even catch me eventhough i use live music, which is pretty 'amazing'?

Anyway, is my first time to attempt timelapse, its pretty fun. Some of the classmates were trying to do some stopmotion thing and keep posing while I left the camera alone. By the way, I just never learn my lesson, the video still shaky as with handheld, probably I need to install a robot hand so I can be stable as. Also, fluorescent really sucks when shooting by D90, it just keeps wobbling.

Just suddenly feels like making this video during the tour with my school. was a pretty good trip and an opportunity to meet some new friends and train my Japanese, although I don't talk much. I decided to make this video after the lunch, so I missed a lot of filming chance while in another spots. The footage is very shaky, should have bring my tripod along.

Was a bit sad when I first uploaded it and I got a 1 star for this video... 1 star!! lol, thats the worse rating I ever got, yeh, I know its crap tho(shaky, not bboying, blablabla). But only worth 1 star does made me upset for a second. Well, that motivated gotta learn and practise more, never gonna give up!! lol

These kids remind me of myself last time in primary school, not much to worry about, keep thinking of having fun all day.

Some of the photos are colour corrected, havent been using photoshop for a while and ive been really busy, cant be bother to correct them. well, I think the kids' expression is enough to make good photos, so photoshop... is unneccessary i guess, just have to let the photos to be as pure as the kids heart. :)

Came through this video on my iphone this morning, I was totally touched by this video ( i just felt that way i dont know why). I'm a Philip Bloom fans, always follow his blog and stuff, film maker using DSLR, you know what I mean.
The glider(dolly) is sweeeeet, made me want to get one, but 199 pound.. maybe save it for some other neccessary stuff, i'm broke as now. Theres like nothing cheap over here in Japan, just transportation everyday can kill me.

Its boxing day today, and i didnt update this blog for ages! i even missed to post on christmas day. by the way these are some whack light writing I did few days ago. These 2 are the best already among all (draft), took me one hour to remember how to i did it last time and the camera settings. Hope you like it :D

some tips for the light writing here is that you don't really need a different kind or different colour of leds/torch. Just use one led torch and cover it with a cloth that you want, and i used green and red tee to make the colors.( original led color was white)

I've seen another reverse graffiti video who use wet cloth to draw while stenciling was use in this one. You watch carefully the drips of water itself wont actually clean the dust, you could imagine how dirty it is.

Had been three weeks since i last update this blog. Well, I have been staying in Melbourne for 2 or more weeks for holidays and I don't wanna stay in my room because when you are alone you would think heaps of stuff, good or bad. When personal and life problems come together, theres very little chance for you to think 'positively' at that moment. Worrying just making more worries.

so yea, i decide to stay at Melbourne because most of my hometown friends are there. they are so many till I could randomly meet them in the city without telling them 'Im coming'. I had a pretty good time over there, going for trips, get some good foods, digging around the record stores, bboying.

It's been a while since i last update this blog, i mean usually i would have at least a few post in a week? Well, when exams, plagiarism(a mistake), financial & personal problems all messed up.. it's call fucked up? but im just not those people that could talk about personal life in the blog, i mean in real life is also difficult to express myself. When i talked about my problems with other people, they would reply something thats different from what i have been talking.

Lets talk about plagiarism trouble i had.. technology nowadays allow the convenience of using the 'copy & paste', what i mean here is not I 'copy' essay and 'paste' that essay. I like copy something useful and paste it in my draft and edit it then copy and paste again on the real essay(I thought thats how you write an essay). So what happen to me was.. I did that essay until the morning(last minute work), and i copied one of the many paragraph that is actually from internet... (if you cant get what i mean, read again and analyze what i said LOL).
So i got plagiarism for that, just a few sentences.. but at the end the head of school believe i did it by mistake, and she said to me "normally you should sitting on the plane now and heading back home...".. I dont know why my studies never been smooth tho, if i wanna say why its not smooth, probably take another 1000 more paragraph to explain.

Next, lets talk about my life, life is crap when you... ah..im feeling sleepy now, ill just goto bed... zzz...

Scott Hobbs, a student at Dundee University studying innovative product design, the ATTIGO TT lets DJ’s loop, sample and scratch the actual wave forms of the music using two touch screen displays.

The ATTIGO is about the same size as a traditional turntable, which makes physical interaction a pretty easy transition for the working DJ. The display removes the computer screen and allows you to interact directly with the music.

Currently the ATTIGO is only a working prototype, but Hobbs is working on getting the device into the public market.

yes, theres a easier method, the one i did took me 3 days straight just to animate the light. I havent try this method myself yet but, this is really much simpler method and looks real because is real light from source instead using animated light.

Police made four arrests on Friday they hope will put an end to a “rampant graffiti spree” in the city’s west end.

Graffiti markings known as “tags” cropped up in the Queensway and Islington Ave. area between December 2007 and March 2008. The tags “Cahoots,” “Riff Raff,” “Get Loose,” and “GYS” were inked, spray painted and etched on property in the area, police said. Walls, signs and vehicles were targeted.

Police believe the tags are only used by these individuals and have been seen elsewhere in the GTA. Ryan McCarney, Sterling Healey, Shane Tyrer and Danny Surjanac were arrested in Uxbridge with help from Durham Regional Police. They appeared in a downtown court Saturday morning

SEOUL -- South Korean dance group the Gambler will star in Paramount's dance movie "Hype Nation," having teamed up with U.S. music producer and rapper Teddy Riley.

In the $25 million picture being produced by Young Film, Riley plays a music director.

Helmed by Alex Calzatti ("I Am Cuba"), pic follows dance battles between the American R&B group B2K and Korean group the Gambler.

Production begins in the U.S. July 15 with some 40% lensing Stateside and 60% to be shot in South Korea.

Young Film prexy Young Lee, a Korean American producer who has previously partnered with American hip-hop artists, is now casting for a Korean female lead.

South Korea's DR Music controls Asian rights for the musical content of the film. Company also expects to partner Paramount in the Korean market, though local investors and distribs were not disclosed. Pic will be released worldwide early 2009.

Riley has produced numerous albums by acts including Michael Jackson and Bobby Brown.

PikaPika, they influenced a lot of people in light writing like the Lichtfaktor crew and they actually made me start to light writng.

Compare between Lichtfaktor and PikaPika, you could see that Lichtfaktor's every single pictures are more clean and beautiful, but complexity wise, PikaPika is really much complicated, very high framerate (more pictures) of the stop motions, a lot of light figures. They had 77 participants altogether while Lichfaktor is only 2.

I didnt wanna compare them like they are competitors or something but I wanna tell that both had very different styles I you watch carefully, don't just think that 'Oh, they are just doing light writing', you gotta love both.

It's been almost 2 month already and this is my 51st post, not going to celebrate like my crap 11th post, I know its too boring. This time I gonna show you my boy Edmond aka bboy Sketch's work. No one could know him better than me, besides his girlfriend, parents, bro and sis, friends, classmates, relatives.. yes, i talk crap again.

Well, this fella won uncountable National and local art competitions, his trophies are way more than my sneakers collection. He did a lot of tees design, mag covers, murals, backdrops, graffiti and stuff by volunteer(a better word to replace 'free').

I guess what I can do just show you this young national champ's work now. oh yea, I forgot to mention hes a dope bboy too.

Rivers Crew 10th Year Anniversary DVD

Got this DVD a while ago, always forgot to review them when I'm out of post lol, damn. In this DVD, its pretty much like trailer of every bboys in the crew and routines during their Battle of R16 last year (which was a huge international bboy event with massive cash prize). Well, you would actually realise that Rivers are not only Born and Physicx but the other bboys in the crew also super dope. In the middle of each bboy's trailer, there will be shout out from bboys like Kmel, Ness, Luigi just to name a few.

Well, I'm a little disappointed with this DVD was that I thought they will include the Rivers crew 10 year anniversary jam at Doota and some 'behind the scene' video. I wanna see some footage that could not be found in youtube so much, i want the extras! just I'm expecting too much lol

overall was a pretty good DVD, worth the keeping it.
